Cornella Brewery has been making beer in the Central Victorian region of Heathcote since 2016, in the picturesque surrounds of award winning winery Shiraz Republic.
Initially we focused on making traditional English style beers, brewing under the name of ‘Cornella Real; an homage to Brittain’s real ale movement. After time, we refined our name to just ‘Cornella’, as our range had grown beyond the English styles we love, to include more modern trends.
We were early adopters of the haze craze, with our core beer “Annie NEIPA” being brewed since 2017 - the first Central Victorian one on the market. Now, our rotating roster of beers includes many more hazy beers, as well as other IPAs, sours, lagers, natural wines and our beloved English styles.

Barley and water are the main ingredients in beer. We have been using barley grown in our own and surrounding paddocks since 2019 which has been custom-malted locally. Similarly, our water comes from our rainwater tanks and is triple filtered before being used in our beers. This makes a Cornella beer taste unique to Cornella, because it is truly made from Paddock to Pint and continuing the tradition of a regional beer having a regional flavour.
From 2022/23, artisan malthouse, Voyager, will be malting our barley for us. Voyager has a focus on sustainability and care for the environment in mind in everything from packaging to practices, aligning perfectly with our own values.
