Travelling from Southern Sydney for his debut at The Shiraz Republic, Hayden Phillis will be familiar to those who know his local family, have been tracking his emerging career and have been asking him to book a “local” show.
2023 CMAA Academy of Country Music Graduate, 2023 Regional 1st Place in the Australian National Busking Championships, a multi-instrumentalist who is developing “songwriting craft” with Kevin Welch (“one of the best songwriters in America” Rolling Stone Magazine) as his Mentor and has kicked off 2024 with 18 performances in 10 days at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Hayden’s sound leans into modern country but tends to engage anyone who enjoys acoustic music with an authentic story. Influences include celebrated Australian Storytellers, modern Americana and a touch of Indie Folk.
