Your winemaking experience starts with a walk out to the vineyard to pick your grapes. We are expecting to begin harvesting in March, continuing on for a few weeks. You can book in your picking date using the calendar below. The start time is for you to head out to the vineyard for picking. Shortly after you finish picking, you will head over to the winery to crush your freshly picked grapes into the must that will become your wine.
Shiraz Republic's cellar door will be open for wine, beer and pizza on all picking dates, so you can relax and re-fuel after the morning’s work. On weekends, we have live music every Saturday & Sunday from 2pm. To help us coordinate things with our cellar door team, please let us know if you are interested in lunch, have any dietary requirements and how many people are joining you on the day.
If you have more than 6 people attending, please let us know the exact number in the comments field.
All Picking/Crushing bookings will be made through the calendar below. Mid-week winemaking dates can be organised with prior arrangement.
Email rentarow@shirazrepublic.com.au or phone (03) 5433 6338 for any other questions.
The next stage of your winemaking is pressing, which can be booked now using this link (or through the Rent-A-Row Hub). Pressing should be done a fortnight after your crushing to ensure a minimum of 10 days of skin contact. For example, if you complete the picking and crushing on the 10th of the March, you should aim to press over the weekend of the 23rd or 24th of March.
