Mt Ida is just next to the highway from Heathcote as you travel north to Shiraz Republic (or just 15 minutes south if you've come from other directions) and is car accessible most of the way to the summit for some of the best views in the district (notwithstanding the Telstra infrastructure and fire tower, as vital as they are) as well as the subtly different environment 450m up. It's in the National Park though, so no doggos.
