As the crisp June air settles over the region, the Heathcote on Show festival returns—and this year, The Shiraz Republic Winter Weekender is back with a killer new line-up. If you’re looking for a break from the standard tasting room circuit, join us for our annual Winter Weekender.
We’re proud to be the only destination in the region that houses both a boutique winery and a full craft brewery on-site. Whether you’re a fan of estate-grown Shiraz or you’re looking for a fresh pint from our massive selection of craft beers on tap, we’ve got your glass covered.
Of course, the drink is only half the story. From 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm each day, we’re hosting a double-stacked bill of Australia’s finest Americana and Alt-Country talent—live and free.
We kick off the weekend with Norwood, the Naarm-based duo of Olivia Bolmat and Nathaniel Peacock. Known for their "unassuming tenderness" and inseparable harmonies, they bring a vulnerability to the stage that perfectly suits a winter afternoon.
Following them is the main event: Small Town Romance. Fronted by Jim Arneman and Flora Smith, this band is "real-deal" country. Their sound shifts seamlessly between Tex-Mex, country soul, and outlaw rock. With Jim’s narrative songwriting and Flora’s effortless melodies, you’ll find yourself alternating between marvelling at their craft and heading to the dance floor for a two-step.
On Sunday, the energy stays high with some hillbilly country blues from Gus Wilde, a local favourite whose raw, honest performance style is the perfect warm-up for the afternoon,
Closing out the weekend is Mark Campbell and The Ravens. Mark is a master of the "wall of sound," crafting songs that ooze honesty and grit. Fusing country, blues, and rock into a powerful Americana blend, The Ravens are known for their foot-stomping energy. Fresh off the back of high-profile supports for the likes of Henry Wagons, they are a must-see for anyone who loves their music with a bit of bite.
This year, Blue Wren Shuttle Service have got you covered with three route's around the Heathcote on Show precinct. If you're keen to grab a ticket, we're on Route 1. Their services will be operating from 10:15am-5pm so no-one needs to be the DD on the long weekend (woo). Tickets are $50 pep person. Find all the details on their website here and get in quick before tickets sell out. Alternatively, you're also welcome to drive yourself and we have plenty of room for everyone to squeeze in.
